
Mordecai Sheftall The British considered this leader of the Georgia rebels to be so dangerous an enemy that when they captured him in the 1778 conquest of Savannah they imprisoned him under constant guard by a sentry with a drawn bayonet. |

Sheftall Sheftall Captured with his father at Savannah, this eighteen year old was appointed flag master of a prisoner of war relief mission. He operates out of the Flag of Truce ship "Carolina Packets" docked in Charleston in 1781. He brings food and money for the relief of General Moultrie and his soldiers who had been captured by the British. |
